FAQ
How does the Quote Estimator work?
Quote Estimator is based on our signature pricing formula designed to calculate rates that won’t be underpricing or overpricing your freelance services.
Should I use daily or hourly rate?
The type of rate you use will depend on the length of the project.
For example, if the project will take you less than eight hours to complete or less than one working day, you should use hourly rate to calculate the quote.
Similarly, if the project will take you more than one day to complete, then it might be better to calculate the quote using the daily rate.
What if I don't know how many hours or days the project will take?
It’s understandable that you may not always have a clear idea of how long a project will take.
In that case, there are a few things you can do.
The first one is to go for a range rather than a specific number. For example, let’s say the project could take you between two and four hours to complete. You can calculate the quote for two hours and for four hours completion, and then discuss the range with your client to see how would that fit into their budget.
Alternatively, you can look into how long did it take you for similar project and use that time as a benchmark.
How many times can I use the Quote Estimator?
Quote Estimator is a completely free tool that you can use as many times as you need to.
Can Quote Estimator help me define my hourly and daily rate as well?
No, this tool is designed to help you calculate quotes and pricing for specific projects and services. It is not designed to calculate how much should you charge per hour or per day.
We are developing a tool that will help you with that, but until then, we suggest reading this guide.
